*NOT AN OFFICIAL FORECAST. Major winter storm brewing for this weekend! 🌨️❄️ The Euro and GFS models are showing two different scenarios for Friday-Monday. The key? It all depends on the positioning and strength of the Arctic high-pressure system to the north. If the high is too strong, it’ll suppress the storm and keep heavy snow in areas depicted by the GFS. But if it’s weaker or positioned further north, that opens the door for the snow band to extend northward into areas shown by the Euro. Along the northern fringe of this system, expect high snowfall ratios—we’re talking fluffy, powdery snow with ratios up to 20:1 liquid equivalent. Some areas have the potential to receive over a foot of powder! ❄️ Down south, this is looking like a different beast entirely. Many areas may start as snow, but this could transition into a MAJOR ice storm. If you’re in the South, now is the time to prepare—stock up on essentials, charge devices, and have a plan.
