What you’re looking at is often what grows in your mind. Dr. Charles Stanley reminds us that Daniel wasn’t pretending the lions weren’t there—he simply kept his focus on God instead of the danger around him. Our problems are real. Our pain is real. But our God is greater. When we fix our eyes on Christ instead of our circumstances, fear begins to lose its grip and faith begins to grow. We often say, “I gave it to God,” but then spend the rest of the day worrying about it. Barbara Frone reminds us that surrender isn’t just praying once—it’s releasing our grip and trusting God with what we can no longer control. We still obey Him, but we stop carrying burdens He never asked us to carry. Faith isn’t knowing exactly how everything will turn out. Faith is believing that God is faithful even when we don’t know the outcome.
