Directing President Trump’s speech in Nebraska. Trump came to Grand Island on Monday to rally support for U.S. Sen. Pete Ricketts, Gov. Jim Pillen and Nebraska's Republican ticket. He also signed an executive order onstage that he said will lower diesel costs for truckers and farmers. It was Trump's first campaign stop in Nebraska since 2022 and part of a midterm swing through Republican-leaning states. Ricketts faces a challenge from independent Dan Osborn, who is backed by the Nebraska Democratic Party, while Pillen faces Democrat Lynne Walz. "With your support, just 29 days from now, Nebraska is going to defeat the radical left Democrats once again," Trump told the crowd at the Nebraska State Fair's Pinnacle Bank Expo Center. Trump also promised a payment to every adult citizen if Republicans keep Congress. "If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate, I am going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America $5,000. And only Republicans can do that, and the Democrats can't, because we're taking in massive amounts of money through tariffs and record-setting economic success," Trump said. He said the money would have to be spent in the United States and called it a "Trump dividend" totaling $1 trillion. He did not say when it would be paid or whether Congress would need to approve it.
