Christa Gail Pike, 50, survived an attempted execution by lethal injection Wednesday night, September 30, at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville, Tennessee. Pike was sentenced to death for the 1995 murder of 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. Pike remained alive after two doses of pentobarbital were administered. The Tennessee Department of Correction said officials followed the state’s established execution protocol and that no additional procedures were permitted under that protocol. Pike was transported to an off-site medical facility for treatment. Following the failed execution, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee suspended executions and ordered a review of what occurred. #Tennessee #fyp #Crime #ChristaPike #breakingnews
