After a fierce battle with Lionel Messi on the pitch, several Cape Verde players waited patiently for the Argentine captain to finish his post-match interview before asking for a quick snap. Messi happily obliged, and was humorously cited, noting that the Cape Verde players had played incredibly hard in the game, but was now asking for pictures. The 39-year-old had a quiet game by his lofty standards but notched another goal to take his overall World Cup tally to 20 goals. Cape Verde won the hearts of the footballing world though, and their goalkeeper racked up 10 saves, including 5 against Messi himself. The defending champions will now face Egypt in the Round of 16. #worldcup #mothershipabroad #fyp
