And I’m not talking about meals with serious significant others. I’m talking about meals where friends, colleagues, business associates, acquaintances, or new romantic partners are picking up the tab. ❌ Don’t order the most expensive options, unless the host insists. ❌ Don’t order more courses than the host, unless they invite you to. ❌ Don’t be overly picky or ask for many modifications based on preferences, not restrictions. ❌ Don’t complain about the food or anything else about the experience. ❌ Don’t bring extra guests unless invited. ❌ Don’t feel pressure to drink alcohol just because others are. It’s perfectly polite to abstain. ❌ Don’t treat it like a transaction by saying something like, “since you’re paying...” ❌ Don’t make it awkward when the host pays. ❌ Avoid debating or loudly insisting on splitting the bill. The gracious way to accept generosity is to say thank you. I could keep going, but l’ll leave it there for now. Which of this list is most important to you? dress: @V.
